FAQ
Answers to common questions about printing, ordering, and digital downloads.
For 3D printing quotes, the best file types are:
- STL
- 3MF
You can also upload supporting/reference files if helpful:
- PNG, JPG, JPEG
- DOC, DOCX
Upload note: max 20MB per file — ZIP multiple parts if needed.
No 3D file yet? That’s fine — we offer 3D modelling and file repair as a paid service. Send photos/sketches, measurements, and a short description of what the part needs to do, and we’ll come back with options and pricing.
Buying a digital download? No upload needed — your files are delivered via a secure download link on-screen after checkout and also sent by email.
Requesting a quote is simple — upload your files and tell us what you need.
- Upload your design: STL or 3MF (you can also add PNG/JPG/PDF/DOC/DOCX as reference).
- Choose material: PLA+, PETG, TPU, or PVA (supports).
- Add quantity and (optional) colour / finish.
- Describe the job: dimensions, tolerances, intended use, and any deadline.
Upload note: max 20MB per file — ZIP multiple parts if needed.
Response time: we typically reply within 24 hours.
Prefer email? Send your files and requirements to hello@creative3dprints.co.uk.
We offer several materials depending on what you’re making — if you tell us the use-case, we’ll recommend the best option.
- PLA+ — best for clean detail, display pieces, organisers, gifts, and general everyday prints.
- PETG — better for functional parts that need extra durability and improved heat/wear resistance.
- TPU — flexible material for grips, bumpers, protective parts, and items that need bend/impact absorption.
- PVA — a support material used for tricky geometries (where applicable).
Tip: If the part will live in a warm environment (e.g., near heat sources or in direct sun), tell us — we’ll steer you to the most suitable material for that scenario.
We typically respond to quote requests within 24 hours.
To quote accurately, please include:
- Your file (STL or 3MF) — or reference images/sketches if you need paid modelling/repair.
- Quantity required.
- Material preference (PLA+, PETG, TPU, PVA supports) — or tell us the use-case and we’ll recommend.
- Colour (optional).
- Size / dimensions (or required fit / space constraints).
- Intended use (display vs functional, indoor vs outdoor, any heat/wear considerations).
- Tolerances (if parts need to fit together).
- Deadline (if you have one).
Upload note: max 20MB per file — ZIP multiple parts if needed.
Pricing is based on the real-world cost of producing your part — we quote fairly, based on your exact requirements.
Your quote typically considers:
- Model size (overall volume and footprint).
- Material choice (PLA+, PETG, TPU, etc.).
- Print time (including complexity and support requirements).
- Quantity (single prints vs batches).
- Finish requirements (e.g., standard “as printed” vs any requested post-processing).
If you need 3D modelling or file repair, we’ll quote that separately based on what’s required.
Yes — we can print single parts, multi-part projects, and batch quantities.
For bulk orders, pricing depends on:
- Quantity (batch size)
- Material and colour requirements
- Print time and complexity (supports, orientation, post-processing)
- Deadline and scheduling
In many cases, larger runs allow for better unit pricing — send your target quantity and deadline and we’ll quote the best option.
Tip: If you’re unsure, we can quote a small prototype run first, then scale up once you’re happy.
We can adjust print quality to match what matters most for your project — detail, strength, or speed.
Quality (layer height)
- Fine detail: smoother surfaces and sharper features (best for display pieces and gifts).
- Balanced: a great all-round option for most functional and decorative prints.
- Fast: quicker turnaround and lower cost where ultra-fine detail isn’t needed.
Strength
- We can tune walls, infill, and orientation to improve durability.
- If your part needs to handle load, impact, heat, or outdoor use, tell us the scenario and we’ll recommend the best setup.
Finish
- Standard “as printed” finish is included by default.
- If you need a specific look (extra smooth, paint-ready, etc.), mention it in your request and we’ll confirm what’s possible and price it accordingly.
Yes — we ship physical 3D prints across the UK.
- Dispatch: once your print is completed and checked, we package it securely and dispatch it using a tracked delivery service (where available).
