Straight, consistent labels — without the guesswork

The Label Helper is our best-selling tool, used by candle makers, diffuser makers and small-batch sellers to achieve the same clean, level label placement across every jar, bottle and tin they make.

Labelling by eye can be slow, and every label that goes on crooked, too high or too low is a printed label you have paid for and may now need to replace. Across a batch, that can mean wasted labels, lost time and products that do not look as consistent as you would like.

The Label Helper gives you a steady cradle and an adjustable placement guide. Position the guide where you want the label to sit, then keep the same setting across matching containers for cleaner, more consistent results throughout your batch.

Why makers use it

  • Straighter, more consistent label placement
  • Less measuring and guesswork
  • Fewer wasted or incorrectly positioned labels
  • Faster and easier batch labelling
  • A cleaner, more professional, ready-to-sell finish
  • Right-handed and left-handed versions available

Quick fit check

The Label Helper works best with round jars, bottles and tins.

  • Recommended container diameter: approximately 55–80mm
  • How to measure: measure across the widest part of the container
  • Label width: labels approximately 40mm or wider are generally easiest to apply on smaller containers and tighter curves
  • Narrower labels: may work on larger containers, depending on the container diameter, label shape and label material
  • Tapered jars: two removable riser blocks are included to help some tapered containers sit more level. These were designed for 20cl and 30cl Lotti/Karen-style candle jars.
  • Full wraparound labels: the Label Helper was not specifically designed for full wraparound labels. Please contact us before ordering if you are unsure whether your label will be suitable.

Tested with commonly used containers

The Label Helper has been tested with a range of commonly used jars, bottles and tins, including:

  • 120ml apothecary-style amber jars
  • 180ml and 250ml apothecary-style amber jars
  • 20cl Lotti/Karen-style candle jars
  • 25cl paint-pot-style metal tins
  • Selected cylindrical reed diffuser bottles
  • 17cl/170g round metal tins
  • 30cl Lotti/Karen-style candle jars

Container dimensions can vary between suppliers, even when the stated capacity or style is the same. Please measure the overall diameter of your container before ordering.

Not sure whether your container or label will work? Send us your container diameter and label dimensions before ordering, and we will be happy to check.

Suitable for

The Label Helper is suitable for many round or cylindrical containers measuring between 55 mm and 80 mm in diameter, including:

  • Candle jars
  • Reed diffuser bottles
  • Cosmetic and skincare jars
  • Jam and preserve jars
  • Spice jars
  • Sauce bottles
  • Metal tins
  • Similar cylindrical containers

For flat-sided containers, heavily tapered jars, unusual shapes or anything outside the recommended size range, please contact us before ordering.

Using smaller bottles or mini jars?

The Label Helper Junior tool is designed for smaller cylindrical containers measuring approximately 25–50mm in diameter.

How to use it

  • Set the guide - Adjust the guide to your preferred label position and lightly tighten the locking screw.
  • Position the container - Rest the jar, bottle or tin in the cradle. Use the riser blocks if needed for tapered jars.
  • Line up the label - Place the label against the guide and press the first edge onto the container.
  • Rotate and smooth - Gently rotate the container while smoothing the label into place. Keep the same guide setting across matching containers for consistent placement.

Right-handed or left-handed?

Choose the version that matches the hand you use to press and smooth the label onto the container.

  • Right-handed: the guide is positioned on the left. Hold the container steady with your left hand and apply the label with your right.
  • Left-handed: the guide is positioned on the right. Hold the container steady with your right hand and apply the label with your left.

Select the option that matches the hand you naturally use to apply the label.

What’s included

  • 1 × Label Helper Tool
  • 2 × removable Jar Riser Blocks, (tested with 20cl and 30cl Lotti/Karen-style candle jars)
  • 1 × printed Instruction Guide

Material and care

Each Label Helper is made to order from PLA, a lightweight and rigid thermoplastic produced from renewable plant-based materials.

Wipe clean using a soft, slightly damp cloth. Keep the tool away from direct heat, hot surfaces and car dashboards during warm weather, as PLA can soften at high temperatures.

Fine layer lines are a normal part of the 3D-printing process and do not affect the function of the tool.

Colours may vary slightly due to lighting, screen settings and filament batches.

Designed and 3D printed to order in the UK. Select your preferred colour and hand orientation before adding it to your basket.
