Straight, consistent labels without the guesswork

The Label Helper Tool is a practical jar and bottle label applicator designed to help small makers apply labels neatly, evenly, and with consistent placement across each batch.

It is ideal for candles, reed diffusers, jars, bottles, tins, skincare containers, preserves, sauces, spices, and other round or cylindrical products.

For smaller containers, we also offer the Label Helper Junior, designed for small bottles, mini jars and roller bottles with diameters between approx. 25mm and 50mm.

Quick fit check

The Label Helper works best with round or cylindrical containers.

Recommended container diameter: approx. 55mm–80mm

Label width guidance: labels around 40mm+ are usually easier to apply on smaller jars, tins and tighter curves. Narrower labels may still work on larger jars, depending on the container diameter, label shape and label material.

Best suited for: jars, bottles, tins and similar cylindrical containers

Tapered jars: riser blocks are included to help some tapered containers sit more level. Tested with slightly tapered 20cl and 30cl Lotti/Karen-style candle jars.

Not sure if your container or label will work? Send us your label size and container diameter before ordering and we’ll happily check.

Works with these containers

Suitable for many round or cylindrical containers, including:

  • Candle jars
  • Reed diffuser bottles
  • Jam and preserve jars
  • Spice jars
  • Sauce bottles
  • Cosmetic and skincare jars
  • Tins and similar cylindrical containers

For unusual shapes, flat-sided containers, heavily tapered jars, or containers outside the recommended size range, please send us a message before ordering.

Why it helps

Labelling by eye can be slow and inconsistent, especially when working through a batch. One label may sit perfectly, while the next ends up slightly too high, too low, or at a slight angle.

The Label Helper gives you a steady cradle and a fixed height guide, making it easier to apply labels in the same position each time.

It helps with:

  • Straighter label placement
  • More consistent product presentation
  • Less wasted labels
  • Faster batch labelling
  • A cleaner, more professional finish

How to use it

  1. Place your jar or bottle in the cradle - Rest the container on its side against the rear wall.
  2. Use the riser blocks if needed - For some tapered jars, the riser blocks help the container sit more level.
  3. Set your label height - Adjust the label guide using the rear metric scale, then tighten the locking screw lightly.
  4. Line up your label - Position the label against the guide at your chosen height.
  5. Apply the label - Press the first edge onto the container, then smooth the label on while gently rotating the jar.
  6. Repeat across your batch - Keep the same height setting for consistent placement.

Label size guidance

Label suitability depends on the container diameter, label shape and label material.

As a general guide, labels around 40mm or wider across the application direction are usually easier to apply on smaller jars, tins and bottles, where the curve is tighter.

On larger containers, such as many 30cl candle jars with an outer diameter around 76–80mm, narrower labels may still work well because the curve is gentler.

Very narrow portrait labels can be harder to apply cleanly, especially on smaller containers, as they may have less contact with the guide while being applied.

Not sure if your label will work? Send us your label size and container diameter before ordering and we’ll happily check.

Choosing your hand orientation

The Label Helper is designed around your dominant hand — the hand you use to press and slide the label onto the container.

Right-handed version - The guide sits on the left side of the tool. Hold the tool steady with your left hand and use your right hand to press and slide the label onto the jar.

Left-handed version - The guide sits on the right side of the tool. Hold the tool steady with your right hand and use your left hand to press and slide the label onto the jar.
